School of Joy
_Through our Global Awareness Adventures to Tanzania we have had the unique opportunity to make lasting friendships with Maasai people. Upon learning more about the traditional ways of the Maasai, who are pastoralists and live in remote areas, we discovered that many children do not have easy access to a formal education. Those who do have the opportunity get thrown into the education system without any knowledge of Tanzania’s official language, Swahili.
Phase I for School of Joy has already started. With your support, by 2013, Maasai children will be able to attend the School of Joy preschool, learning Swahili and getting prepared for cultural differences they will encounter in the outside world. You can help Maasai children be successful in school and be proud of their culture and traditions by supporting this project. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a sponsor or holding a fundraising party!
